Visit the Cayman Islands!

It’s a paradise alright. The snorkeling is great; the gardens beautiful, Rum Point is laid back and Georgetown is for shopping. If you are looking for beautiful beaches, stay close to resorts because they pick up the trash that washes ashore in front of their facilities. Cruise ships and other ships at sea dump their trash into the sea. The result is a never ending mass of incredible trash on the beaches. Cayman residents pick up tons of trash in this battle of more and more trash washing ashore.

If you take a cruise, you can make a point about the trash. You can ask questions about how they dispose of their trash. You can ask them if they dump trash in the ocean. It’s not a matter of out of sight, out of mind. If you think you trash breaks down in that deep dark salty water, take a look at these recent photos taken on Grand Cayman Island.

I have other videos of trash. Nags Head is in my home state North Carolina and I couldn’t believe the trash.

If you bring it to the beach, take it home. If you take a cruise, make sure they take it home.

Travel well!
